CRAFTY TOTS!
I'm now leading a fun new class for the 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 year old age bracket. Kids can sign up to participate in 8 week sessions; each week is a new theme, so the projects are always new and exciting.
Currently, I'm offering the class one time per week, Fridays, from 9-11am. I'd love to offer it more often, so hopefully there will be enough interest that I can open an additional class each week.
Here are answers to common questions. Feel free to email me if you have any others or you would like to register your child!
WHAT ARE THE THEMES?
Each theme presents a guide as to the art and crafts projects we will be doing. Some days will be filled with all structured projects from start to finish; other days, part of the class will be structured projects, and then the kids will be able to explore according to his or her wishes. Of course, I'll still be there to guide them!
THEMES FOR SESSION 1: October 15th-December 3rd (No class Nov. 26th)
Week 1: Yummy In My Tummy
Week 2: Ooh, Bugs!
Week 3: Spookies and Sillies (a Halloween special)
Week 4: The Colorful Seasons
Week 5: Under The Sea
Week 6: Fall Fun (a Thanksgiving special)
Week 7: Rainbow Party! (a special party for the parents and students to celebrate all the fun we have had!)
What does a typical day look like?
We'll start each day with our progressive mural; it will be started the first session, and finished at our last one. The kids will be able to see their artwork progress each week.
After we complete our mural work for the day, the kids will sit down for a story. The story will introduce the theme of the day. Then, it's time for multiple projects! Some of them will be sent home at the end of class, others will be kept for use during subsequent themes.
What should my child wear?
The answer is entirely up to you, but I'd recommend they "dress to make a mess." We'll be exploring with paints, glue, food coloring (limited, don't worry), and more, so save the cute outfits for another time!
What about diaper changes/potty breaks?
Because the class is only two hours, diapered children will most likely not need a change during the class. You are welcome to change your child directly before class if needed. If your child uses the potty, the bathroom is easily accessible from our art area. Please let me know if your child will need helping pulling pants up or down; I will not assist with pottying unless I have specific instructions from you in writing beforehand.
Can I stay with my child?
You are more than welcome to assist your child anytime that you choose to do so, but it isn't something required. (Enjoy the break!)
